im back with taray decals

After soooooo many months of not blogging, I am back! It is true that I got broke after some months without school and without allowance but then I found some cheaper ways to be kikay.

As I type, I am letting my nails dry and I'm doing a great job not ruining a single nail. Sounds hard huh? Not when you use decals. :) If you've been friends with me since the start of my college, you would know that my nails always always have nail art on em. I dont really know why but I guess it just shows a bit of who I am and how I feel at the moment. I'm never really happy with just blue when im blue or red polish when im in love or whatever. And so I went from having my nails printed (its costs around 160 for all of your nails), to putting on fake plastic nails, to having it manually done (100-maybe 300) to buying my own Konad printing machine (which didnt really work well for me. i keep messing up. but anyway, if that interests you, its around 800 at divisoria) to loving decals.

So when did people start using decals for their nails? what is it made of? who else uses it? To tell you frankly, i have no answers to these questions. I can tell you though that it is for people like me who always want to change the way their nails look but dont really want to spend as much time or money doing it. it is also for people like me who hate painting nails.

so heres how i did it....

things you need:
1. a decal sheet. there are different kinds. one thats precut (like the one i bought) a full one (which probably saves you some money but not time) and one that you use as a design or an add on.
2. a glass of water
3. tweezers (although i didnt really use it. i just went ahead and used my hands)
4. pusher
5. cotton
6. clear nail polish

steps:
1. cut the decal for each nail.

2. dip the design in water for about 30 seconds or until you feel like its getting soggy.

3. peel off the design using a tweezer (hand works well too)

4. Place decal on your nail. If it dries up before you properly place it dab in some water. Cut the excess decal.

5. Have a cotton ready to absorb all the water from your nail. Decals tend to bubble up so use a pusher to flatten the decal. Also use the pusher to take away the excess decal

6. Put atleast 2 coats of clear polish. NOTE: Do not use caronia... it makes it melt

7. show it off!

If you want to get decals, the cost about 40-80. You can find them at online stores.

I got mine at divisoria. four for 100. i begged of course.. :)

Wednesday Waxing at One Beverly Spa

If there was something I have always been insecure about, its my mustache. Yes ladies, i have it.. Well, now I had it.

In my teeny bopper years, I remember having the pink razor I bought from the grocery on one hand, swipping away my insecurity in front of a mirror. Not only did it come back a few days later, it got even worse.. I knew i couldn't shave it again because the hair will grow thicker and I wouldn't want that. I tried a depilatory lotion but then my skin reacted soo badly I had minor chemical burns for weeks.

I was about to accept that I will forever apply a concealer at the top of my lips when wednesday came. I was supposed to spend a spa night with my sister when for no apparent reason, there was a heavy traffic build up along marcos highway. I decide to just stay in Sta Lucia and walk around but my feet got so sore that i had to stop and get myself pampered (What choice do I have right? hehe!)

A newly opened (just a week old by now) spa caught my eye and so I asked about their waxing services. I was feeling kind of a dare devil that day. I never tried having myself waxed because, as you know, I watch videos in youtube before I get anything done. and since I am allergic to pain, i never tried getting waxed. That day I learned, you can't trust youtube that much anymore.

To my surprise, the whole process wasn't painful at all. The owner of One Beverly Spa, Mrs Beverly Roldan herself explained to me the process of waxing. The people there were so accomodating. I did not have to wait much before they had it started. I lay down the bed closed my eyes and waited for some bloody action. Well, I didnt get it. Instead, I had two ladies taking my insecurities away. Imagine, two ladies for this little and unimportant part of my body. I felt like a queen for only 150 pesos! Mrs Roldan explained that they use only the most expensive products to make sure that they take care of their costumers well. That is a great assurance for sensi-skinned ladies like me.

Tomorrow, I might have my eyebrows waxed. I've never been as excited about waxing before.

:)

Thank You ONE BEVERLY SPA...Til we rip again!

new year new makeup loot! :)

So I passed the civil service exam. As a reward, I used the money my dad gave me and added ome of mine to have my new everyday vanity kit. It isnt much but i got all the essentials.. most items were bought at The Body Shop.

It has this cream to powder magic. I bought only because it was on sale and my skin did not react to it. But as I used it, i discovered how natural it looks on the skin and how rich the color is that you almost do not need to use a concealer. it starts out as a cream which for me helps in blending for perfect coverage, then tranforms in to a powdery substance which makes it light on the face (and the pores i guess). The sales man suggested that I use number 5 but I kinda liked my foundation to be a bit darker so it covers up some flaws. It is also enriched with Baobab oil which has numerous beauty benefits including skin softening and restructuring. It improves elasticity of the skin which is a bonus for me because my skin looks kinda old. It also encourages regeneration of cells and READ THIS: it does not clog the pores.

This is number 5

and this is number 6

Do you think I made the right choice?

CHEEKS + EYES + EVERYWHERE ELSE THAT NEEDS SHIMMER

This is, in my opinion, the best buy ever! I bought the bronze one. Let me tell you how amazing this product is. First because its shimmery, and i go gaga over anything shimmery. The different layers give accent to differnt parts of ones face. Here's how I prefer to use it. I applied the first layer under my eyes to conceal its puffiness. the second layer to fill my brows. third to fake shape my cheeks. the second and first layer is used as an eye shadows. and i used the first layer to highlight the nose bridge (I needed that.hehe) sweep altogether downwards and you get a one of a kind shimmer you can apply anywhere you want to enhance. but oh well, stupid me, i forgot to buy a brush.. :(

CHEEKS(but can also be for the LIPS) = The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain
for that cutely pinched flush.. plus its so tipid, just dab on 3x and spread.. they used to have it in a bigger bottle though.. :(

it comes in two shades, rose pink and bronze glimmer.. :)

which was a pasalubong given by my cousin Abigail Lumicao. this keeps my lips moisturized without coloring it too much. and the scent is soooooooooooooo addictive.

which has been giving me much much confidence since June. I think this will never leave my vanity kit. it was sold to me by my dear friend Marielle Reyes. I dont have much words to describe it, jut see for yourselves I guess :)

was there anything i forgot to buy aside from the brush??

happy new year loves!

so i guess my blog has been soooo outdated. if you've been wondering why, the answer is this: im broke!

i realized my blogging life can be a little expensive given that i mostly write about spas, salons and beauty products. can you believe that my last footspa has been more than a month ago!?

but i have a few kikay experiences that i havent blogged about. like the diamond peel with freebies at my body salon and spa, the super unbelievably affordable ear candling at pinoy spa, my do-it-at-home-with-an-epic-sister-and-a-cool-chick-flick footspa step by step instructions, and the antipolo ukay treasure hunt. i will though if i have time and money.

i dont really know why im blogging right now. truth is, i should be in dreamland by now. but as tradition states, here are my kikay resolutions:

1. to start wearing make-up again (my resolution last year was not to wear makeup with the exception of cases in which i have to be on stage blahblahblah, i think i over did it)
2. to loose weight (i knoooooooooooooooooooow)
3. to get a job that'll pay the spas
4. lastly,,,,, to have long hair. (which all the members of my family agreed that i will not be able to acomplish. haha)

HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVES!

my rockstar haircut

After several hair disasters(because of perming and relaxing and all that chemical abuse) , I had my haircut today at Azta Urban Salon in Robinsons Metro East. This is where I get my hair done everytime since my freshman year in College. Let me tell you about Azta before and Azta now.

Azta used to give complimentary drinks (milkshake!!! or icedtea or whatever) to their costumers. they used to have you fill out a form with descriptions of yourself, the type of work or school you go to, your style icon and 3 descriptions about yourself. From there they base what kind of haircut to give you. if you ask them to do whatever they feel like doing to your hair, you MUST be ready to be a whole different person right after.

Azta today does not have complimentary drinks, they have one weird staff staring at me every five minutes, they dont have the fillout form, but they still let you have a different person kind of feel.

So, am I saying that Azta was better before? no, not really! except for the staring girl which I think I can live with, I still go to Azta for an awesome haircut and they deliver... Isnt that why we go to salons in the first place? :0 without milkshakes and all that, Azta you still rock!
my azta haircut now

my first azta haircut.. similar? hahaha!
